Over the last couple of years there has been an increase in the number of women taking up golf. This is great news for the sport, and something that should continue to be encouraged.
Here at Nefyn, we firmly believe that every golf club should play their part in promoting golf as an inclusive sport that can be enjoyed by all. That is why on the 29th April 2017, Nefyn Golf Club with be hosting Only Girls Aloud, an event which aims to encourage girls to take up the sport.
Participant will enjoy a free visit to Nefyn Golf Club, with the event kicking off at 1.30pm, when those who attend can start by improving their skills with a lesson from resident PGA Professional John Froom.
From 2.30pm onwards there will be a mini competition held, appropriate to ability, and open Llyn Peninsula Clubs and C&A County Girls.
All girls who attend the event will be invited to indulge in a complimentary picnic, and any mums who come along will be able to sit back and relax with coffee & cake.
Golf is a sport that welcomes those who are new to the sport. Its unique handicap system allows people of different abilities to play and compete together, making it a great game for men and women alike.
Nefyn Golf Club hopes that by appealing to girls at a young age, golf will continue to enjoy an increase in female participation and popularity.
